Lucy

If you’ve ever been to our store in Hilton Village you know that there is something about our shop that stands out from most businesses you walk into nowadays. It’s about 85 pounds and you have probably stepped over it.

Lucy, our almost 14 year old yellow Labrador Retriever, is a fixture in our day to day lives here at the store.  Those of us gals who work here are used to stepping over her, blockading her away from the desk during lunch, and giving in to her nearly constant begging for treats.

Lucy has become our mascot and believe me when I tell you that she is THE most popular thing in the shop.  She has quite a regular following of fans who take the time to see her and give her treats before they start browsing. She’s been photographed for the Daily Press twice and she’s even had her portrait painted by a former consignor and pet artist, Doreen McManus. While her hearing is fading, we all know that the crackling of food bags gets her up off the floor in a skinny minute.

We love being able to work with her and enjoy the visits we get from other four-legged friends throughout the week. Between all of the gals who work at the shop we have 12 dogs (and 6 cats) so having her around feels natural. Plus, Moms love having Lucy around because she provides plenty of entertainment while they escape take a few minutes to shop around.
